Luke Cox
Chief  Executive Officer

 

Mr Cox is a Professional Geologist and Mine Manager who has worked in the mining industry for over 25 years. His experience has encompassed exploration, mining, and mining finance, across an extensive range of commodities (Nickel, Cobalt, Lithium, Gold, Iron Ore, and Diamonds).

​

Mr Cox has been involved in developing a considerable number of mineral deposits (Murrin Murrin, Mlibizi, Mali Green, Binduli, Davyhurst, Francis Creek, Edna May, Greenfinch, Carina, Wodgina, Sunrise), and has been involved in all stages of development from exploration to project feasibility, financing, mine development and operations.

Mr Cox has worked in Europe, Africa, North and South America, United Kingdom and Australia.

Mr Cox has been an integral part of the Owners’ teams of numerous LSE, ASX, TSX-listed exploration and mining companies, working extensively with both the Board and Executive levels. He also has significant experience in technical and commercial diligence with off-take customers, mining companies, and investment groups.

Matt Herbert

Chief Operating Officer

​

Mr Herbert is a multi-commodity geologist with 20+ years in exploration, mining, processing and rail that spans Australia, PNG and North America. This experience includes start-ups, expansions, and end-of-life mining environments.

 

He has a proven track record in high intensity, large-scale operations with companies such as Rio Tinto and Fortescue Metals where he has undertaken management roles across the integrated supply chain.

 

In recent years he has moved into the financial and deal-side of resource projects into areas such as financial modelling, funding, M&A and corporate strategy.

Mr Herbert is a well-respected member of the Australian and North American mining community.

Scott Gilbert
Chief Financial Officer

 

With over 25 years of experience in the mining industry, Mr. Gilbert has held various escalating senior-level positions within well-established public-listed mining companies, including his most recent role as Chief Financial Officer at Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd and previous roles at Kinross, Centerra Gold, IAMGOLD, St. Andrew Goldfields and Harte Gold.

 

Mr Gilbert’s proficiency in both debt and equity financing is essential as GT1 progresses toward the development of its key projects. In addition to his expertise in financing, Mr. Gilbert also brings a deep understanding of risk management, governance, and regulatory requirements and the implementation of robust accounting controls and systems.  

 

Mr. Gilbert's professional qualifications as a Chartered Professional Accountant and his academic background as a graduate of Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, reinforce his expertise in financial management and his local knowledge of the North American mining landscape is a distinct advantage to the company as it advances its projects and operations.

Joel Ives
Company Secretary

 

Finance & Business Advisory Executive specialising in CFO, Accounting, Company Secretarial services and Mergers and Acquisitions for private companies as well as ASX listed and public small cap companies across various industries.

 

Mr Ives currently acts as Company Secretary to DigitalX Limited (ASX:DCC), Kuniko Limited (ASX:KNI), OD6 Metals Limited (ASX:OD6) and OliveX Holdings Limited (NSX:OLX).

John Winterbottom
General Manager Technical Services

 

Mr Winterbottom is a professional geologist with over 25 years’ experience in mining and exploration over a large range of hard rock commodities (gold, base metals, and laterite nickel / cobalt, and iron ore), in both open-pit and underground settings. He has managed mining and exploration teams from junior to mid-tier companies transitioning projects from greenfield concept targets through, advanced exploration, PEA, PFS, DFS, project development and operation.

Mr Winterbottom has experience in Africa, Canada and Australia in a wide range of geological settings and deposits including Fosterville (Kirkland Lake Gold), Rosebery (MMG), Dikilushi (Mawson West), Mt Rawdon (Evolution), Cracow (Evolution), Edna May (Evolution), Frances Creek (Territory Resources), Murrin (Minara Resources), the Superpit (KCGM) and Golden Grove (Newmont).

Mr Winterbottom has extensive experience in ASX and TSX listed companies working closely with Executive Teams and Boards to maximise shareholder returns.​
 

 


Nathan Sims
Exploration Manager

Mr. Sims has been active in North American mineral exploration for 20 years and has vast expertise conducting exploration on properties at various stages. His skills cover all facets of exploration and operating a exchange-listed mining company, including planning and executing exploration programs, property evaluation, data management, modelling, permitting and Indigenous consultation. He has organized exploration campaigns on an extensive list of properties including many Lithium-focussed projects, including Seymour and Wisa Lake prior to joining GT1.  Nathan will be an integral part of the operations team, focussed on building lithium resources for Green Technology Metals in Ontario.

Nathan is a graduate of Lakehead University (HBSc Geography/Geology) and Sir Sandford Fleming College (Geographic Information Systems – Applications Specialist) and is a practicing member of the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario.
